Are
your people problems
really the issue? - Take
this Mini Quiz
I’ve discovered an
interesting phenomenon
when organizations bring
me in to help ‘motivate
their people.’ They may
be suffering from customer
complaints, staff
turnover, or a lack of
teamwork. At first glance,
these appear to be front
line people problems. What
we frequently find however
is that most problems
involving attitudes and
teamwork are actually just
symptoms of flawed
infrastructures. Let’s
see if this could be true
in your organization.

How
to Select Your Boss -
A Three-Pronged
Approach
|
|
Bob
Selden
When applying for a new
job, we are (rightly)
concerned about putting
our best foot forward and
making sure that we are
selected. Often we neglect
the fact that it is a two
way street – they select
us and we select them.
Unfortunately, the
consequences of not
selecting the right boss
only become obvious once
we are in the new role. My
research (see Where
Have All The Honest
Managers Gone?)
clearly shows that people
do not leave an
organisation, they leave a
boss!

Dispensing
Disability Confidence
|
|
Jeremy
Opperman
How few people have
actually worked with a
person with a disability.
Or how few people attended
school or university with
learners with
disabilities. As these are
the most socially
interactive times of our
lives, where else are we
likely to meet, interact
with and know people with
disabilities?
“The process discussed
in this article encourages
them to understand the
enigma that is disability.
It empowers them to be
able to meet disability on
its own terms.

Tips

Updating
information on a website
page
When you frequently
refer to a page on a
website, and have stored
the web page address on
your computer system, your
system might refer you to
a previous version of the
page that has since been
updated. To avoid looking
at out-of-date data, try
the following:
- Open the page that
you frequently visit.
- Click the Refresh
button on your
Internet server's task
bar.
- Click on it again a
few times.
- See if there are any
changes to the page
that you are viewing.
(The Refresh button
overwrites the information
stored in your computer's
memory and replaces it
with the most current
information from the site
that you are visiting.)
