JOB TITLE External Consultant
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE To look for new business and to service existing clients of the branch
RESPONSIBLE TO Operating Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR None
MAIN DUTIES
Prospecting:
  • Identify target areas and resources in geographical areas
  • Co-ordinate with sales manager to establish potential in geographical area
  • Draw up and action plan to identify target areas for business
  • Once action plan is approved, implement

Client Contact:

  • Interview clients at home or at business premises
  • Interview clients at branch
  • Contact client by telephone
  • Written communication

Client needs:

  • Identify client needs
  • Analyze existing clients portfolio

Product Presentation:

Products must be presented as follows:

· Features

· Selling features

· Benefits

· Interest where applicable and offer specialist advice

Presentation to client

· Present product/package to client referring to all conditions etc

· Answer all question offering advice and alternatives

· Obtain the clients approval once package/product has been negotiated

Finalize transactions:

· Complete documentation and get client to sign

· Hand documents to Branch for approval and finalization

Cross Selling

Offer additional services to client at interview

Escalate clients particulars to other divisions for cross-selling

Ask client of referrals

After-Hour-Service

· Keep data-base up to date

· Keep a schedule for follow-up calls to be done

· Keep in touch with client from time to time to ascertain needs when they occur

Internal Activities within the branch

· Relieve as internal consultant when the need arises

· Self development
