JOB TITLE Internal Consultant
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE To sell bank products to clients (who have no cheque account) and look for potential new clients
RESPONSIBLE TO Operations Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR None
MAIN DUTIES
Selling and Cross-selling:
  • Opening, closing and transferring cheque accounts
  • Opening, closing and transferring savings accounts
  • Acceptance/closure of investments
  • Acceptance of Home Loan applications
  • Acceptance of Personal Loan applications
  • Applications for Fixed Rate Loans
  • Applications for Student Loans
  • Purchasing shares
  • Purchasing of Unit Trusts
  • Acceptance of Wills and Testaments
  • Credit card applications
  • Handling of Estates
  • Acceptance of balance sheets and cash flow statements
  • Debit orders, ATM Cards, Stop payments etc (Enquiries thereof)
  • Travellers cheques (Internal and External)
  • Foreign exchange
  • Safe Custody documents
  • Issuing of Letter of Acceptance and Guarantees (New Business)

General:

  • Obtain broker leads from the brokers
  • Complete all required correspondence
  • Train staff with regard to product knowledge and sales technique
  • Attend sales and training sessions to improve knowledge
  • Have knowledge of all new products and services offered by all the different departments with the group
  • Refer clients to other divisions if necessary
  • Handling of all promotions as determined by the sales manager
  • Help sales manager when marketing action plan is being set up
  • Self development
  • Liaise with Treasury for latest Interest Rates
  • Resolving queries unable to be resolve by enquiry counter
  • Do credit checks to approve credit etc.

Administration and Documentation:

  • Completion of all documents refer to Manager

After-sales Service:

  • Follow up with clients to determine if all their needs were met

Telesales:

  • Work through listings and other resources to service existing as well as to find new clients to do business with
  • Co-ordinate with Sales Manager and Credit Manager to establish the VIP clients to offer certain packages
  • Contact clients by phone offering new packages and products
  • If unable to contact by phone, do letters and follow up by phone if no reply is received from the letter
  • Arrange appointments to finalize business
