JOB TITLE Department Head – General Administration
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE Keep a control of the Cheque Book Library, Savings Accounts and Investment Section
RESPONSIBLE TO Operations Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR
MAIN DUTIES
Control the training of staff on a daily and weekly basis

Ensure that the checking process is being carried out and the necessary controls are in place where required

Check documents and to see that they are filed correctly

Control all monthly and fortnightly returns and to check whether done or not, and to escalate for signatures

The alternating, control of Safe keys, Tellers cash, Treasury function, Cash counts on Tellers under counter safes and checking of all Tellers drawers on a monthly basis

Check machine rolls for accuracy and to initial any Credit transactions

Recovery of all commissions and working towards profitability, thus reaching all set targets within the branch.

Old records to be bound and stored in the Archives

Control the diary of the branch

Enhance cross-selling at all times

Control and arrange that all leave is taken timeously and the correct leave chart is kept

Control the rotation of staff in case of emergency within the Department and in case of illness, to enable the department to operate effectively

Ensure that the Branches diary is strictly monitored by doing all entries correctly and by keeping the correspondence, head Office memo’s etc up to date

Train staff when faults are detected with in the department

Telephone queries to be done by qualified staff, escalate difficult problems to senior staff

Dual Control of:

Numbered stationery and the monthly counting thereof
