JOB TITLE

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE

To effectively manage the day to day operation of the unit consistent with Company Standards and to achieve optimum financial results.

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY

Implement "one-up" hiring, dismissal, and transfer policy with respect to management and senior staff.
Capital expenditure as per company procedure
Implement "one-up" on any management and senior staff salary increase
No aesthetic changes without permission
Press statements to be checked out first "one-up"
Unrest situation "one-up" (circumstances permitting)

MAIN DUTIES

Financial

To control costs and expenses whilst maximizing revenues thus achieving optimum profiability
To prioritize capital expenditure requirements
To control salaries and wages focusing on reducing labour costs

Marketing & Sales

To identify unit needs and market trends and through liaison with marketing, sales and group F&B Departments implement appropriate policies timeously with the approval of the Regional Director
In conjunction with the above, monitor the unit SWOT analysis in order to improve the units strengths, reduce the impact of weaknesses/threats and take timeous advantage of opportunities offered.

Administration

Ensure that unit financial reporting is on time and correct
Ensure that all unit reports, as required by Regional/Head Office, are correct and timeously submitted.

Human Resources

To effectively monitor unit management and strive for ongoing development and high morale of the entire workforce through training, communication and interaction between unit management and staff.
Identify management potential and development needs and agree appropriate action with Regional Director
Implement job descriptions and company performance appraisal procedures.

Communications

To ensure effective communication through the continuous and undistorted flow of information between unit and regional office, management and staff by holding regular meetings as per agreed schedule.

Standards

External Environment

Participate in agreed external bodies
Establish environmental monitoring systems in own area/city and feedback to Regional Director.

Productivity

Agree with the Regional Director productivity goals and ensure that these goals are achieved.
