SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for ensuring the continued well-being and satisfaction of all guests,
within the limits of his/her department
RESPONSIBLE TO
Banqueting Manager
MAIN DUTIES
- Expand and further develop all phases of banqueting business
- Maintain lose liaison, teamwork and communication among staff
- Work with management and other heads of departments at all times and assist in carrying
out special requirements and duties necessary in adding to the guests general comfort and
well being.
- Assist with typing of the Banquet and Sales Managers correspondence, i.e. answering
mail, confirming banquet arrangements, menus, memos etc
- Establish and improve the reputation of the hotel by offering a very personalized style
of service to the highest possible standard
- Study requirements of all booked banquets and functions to familiarize and ascertain the
possibility of selling additional facilities, to produce extra revenue
- Follow up and develop all banquet inquiries
- To be familiar with all phases and material relating to banquets and functions
- Compose, publish and distribute to all department heads and personnel who are involved
in servicing banquets, a daily function and weekly function sheet
- Assist with the typing of the event orders
- Maintain a close liaison with the credit controller regarding the clients credit
standing
- Make full arrangements and details with prospective and/or booked banquets etc. for all
of the activities, including when necessary and in conjunction with reservations, the
booking of sleeping accommodation
- Distribute promptly to all hotel participants notice of any change whatsoever in the
banquet specifications issued
- In servicing group functions comply in every respect with the agreement made at the time
of booking the event
- Perform all duties assigned efficiently and economically
- Comply with all policies and approved practices of the hotel and comply and/or executive
promptly all orders and requests required.
