Deputy General Manager
Hospitality
JOB TITLE
PLACE OF WORK
SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE
- To oversee the day to day operation of the hotel. To ensure guest satisfaction.
Deputizes for the General Manager in his/her absence.

LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
- May not make statements to the press
- Organizes all subordinates as s/he sees fit
- Deputizes for the General Manager in his/her absence
MAIN DUTIES
Hotel Administration
- To deal with the day to day administration
- Deal effectively with any guest complaints and relay same to the General Manager
- Be aware of and control all contracts
- Be aware of all hotel legal matters and input as necessary
- Improve profit through strict cost saving activities and thereby assist General Manager
in achieving 20% profit conversion for the year.
Maintenance
- Monitor and control the Maintenance Department
- Co-ordinate all major Repairs and Maintenance
- Co-ordinate special projects
- Instigate a planned maintenance system for the whole hotel
Security
- Monitor and control the Security Department
- Re-evaluate the existing procedures and systems
Hotel Operations
- Review and be aware of VIP, functions and all day to day operational matters
- Provide evaluation of operational opportunity and discuss weekly with General Manager
- Assist with improving department appearance and discipline of all staff.
- Carry out specific operational assignment as designated by General Manager from time to
time
- Act as co-ordinator when necessary of all major groups and convention wihtin hotel.
Performance Standards / Objectives
- Withhold staff turnover to 20% year in year
- Improve cost control by 10% to budget
- Have reduced energy conservation by 25%
- Have introduced and action operating equipment control and not to exceed budgeted
expenditure.
- See the property is maintained and cleanliness is to the set standard.
- Assist the General Manager in achieving 20% profit conversion for the year.
