Reports to: Director of Human Resources
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for identifying staffing needs,
designing/developing/implementing recruiting solutions to meet identified needs
and for interviewing, orienting, placing, training, and motivating both paid and
unpaid staff at [COMPANY].
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Working with department managers to identify on an on-going basis the
staffing needs of the [COMPANY] campus.
- Develop and implement an aggressive recruitment plan to target markets for
both paid/unpaid staff using a variety of methods (for example, newspapers,
radio, mass mailings, speaking engagements, etc.).
- Market [COMPANY] in a coordinated way (in tune with the development
department’s comprehensive marketing plan) as an employer or volunteer
site to target groups. Promote [COMPANY]’s volunteer program and
employment opportunities both on and off campus through presentations,
personal invitations, and information distribution.
- Ensure that all departments are fully staffed with qualified paid/unpaid
personnel or have a qualified applicant pool from which to select.
- Interview prospective staff to assure compatibility with our organization,
and compliance with program standards.
- Design/develop/facilitate orientation programs in response to the
orientation needs of the departments in which the staff will be serving.
- Working with the managers of the various departments, place staff into
appropriate settings, matching departmental needs with the individual’s
talents, background, experience, and skill.
- Working with department managers assures that ongoing training is provided
for volunteers, appropriate to their placement and service tasks.
- Coordinate and participate in volunteer recognition programs to
appropriately express the appreciation of the organization for the commitment
and effort of our volunteers. Assure that the various types of volunteer
service on the campus, whether they are of a one-time, or an ongoing nature,
are appropriately recognized.
- Oversee volunteer programs for special populations, such as the Community
Service, and Volun-Teen programs.
- Assure that the volunteer program is, at all times, operating in a manner
consistent with the unique mission and culture of [COMPANY].
- Provide on-going HR support to volunteers.
- Coordinate the management "decentralization" of volunteers to
the departments.
OTHER POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Set-up/break down physical equipment as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, public relations, or a
related field preferred;
Experience
- Corporate recruiting experience required;
- Experience recruiting volunteers, coordinating volunteers,
sales/marketing experience, and/or training experience preferred;
Skills
- Strong/effective interpersonal skills;
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills;
- Strong analytical skills in assessment and identification of staffing
needs and development of recruiting solutions to meet those needs;
- Strong evaluation skills to assess the effectiveness of methods used v.
goals/objectives;
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English;
- Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Willingness to travel in the metro Atlanta area.
- Computer skills required.
JOB ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS
Must be able to carry, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to crouch, grasp, pull, kneel, stoop, and walk to perform
certain job functions.
Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours.
This position operates in an office setting with no known exposures or
hazards. In certain circumstances, incumbent may be exposed to temperature,
vision strain, weather, and muscular strain.
