DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH 17 March 2006 OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES IN MINES AND WORKS ACT, 1973 : INCREASE OF LEVIES I, Manto Tshabalala - Msimang, Minister of Health, hereby, in terms of Section 62 of the Occupational Diseases in Mines and Works Act, '1 973 (Act no. 78 of 1973), increase the levies which are payable from the controlled mines and works in terms of the said Act immediately with effect from 01 February 2006. Levies will be increased per risk shift performed with an average amount of R1.OO, as recommended by Actuaries and the Advisory Committee to the Compensation Commissioner (see the enclosed table).
