electronic CCMA link to employers

relations process management.
A landmark
decision has been made by the
Commission for Conciliation,
Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to
partner with HCMT in an effort to
streamline the sometimes unreliable
process of notifying employers
that their presence at the dispute
resolution forum is required. Failure
to appear in front of the Commissioner
can result in a default award
being made against the employer. Of
course these decisions can be
rescinded where it is clear that the
notification was not sent out by the
commission timeously but even the
rescision process can be cumbersome
and expensive. Further to this, even
where documentation has been
received, the situation is often
exacerbated by employers struggling
to route the documents to the
correct individuals within the
company.
HCMT,
being the providers of the "er
Navigator" industrial relations
process management system developed
the CCMA module along with the
Commission as a cost effective means
of ensuring that not only will all documentation be
received on time by employers, but
that the information is also sent to
the right divisions and managers
within an organisation. This
provides a very efficient solution
for organisations that have
extensive networks of branches or
subsidiaries. The system is further
strengthened by electronically
directing documents from the various
provincial offices of the CCMA, to
the correct branches of the
employer.
