Department of Labour responds to SAFTU march

The South African Federation of Trade Unions, Saftu, will embark on a nationwide protest today, against the proposed national minimum wage of R20 an hour and amendments to labour laws. The federation says they want to shut down the country, this after the Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant says it won't be possible to introduce the minimum wage payment of R3,500 a month on May the first as previously promised, saying that Parliament is still considering public submissions on three bills that will give effect to the minimum wage. To discuss both the minimum wage and various strikes further we are joined by Minister of Labour, Mildred Oliphant.
